Thanks for coming to the signings

Just a wrap up thank you to Comicazi, Million Year Picnic and New England Comics in Allston for hosting signings for The Couch. Met some cool folks and got some new ideas. Next stop ComiCONN in Stamford.

What the hell is a Couch?

Back in 1999, I wrote a story about a punk rock kid named Jesse who was murdered on his couch by a masked killer with a shotgun. Jesse's blood seeped into the couch and mixed with all the crap you find in most couches: hair, finger nails, dead skin cells, pizza crumbs ... you get the idea. Spontaneously life was created from the mixture and the Couch was born.

In the beginning, Couch had no idea what it is. It only knows it is hungry. But as it begins to eat (by absorbing things into its body) it gathers memories from the things it comes into contact with. Slowly Couch begins to regain his memories of being Jesse, his girlfriend Kali, and proceeds to try to solve its own murder.

Meanwhile, police detective Jack Squat is facing his own problems having had a rash of unsolved cases and coping with the sudden and violent loss of his son. The latest case on Squat's desk? A mysterious shooting of a punk rock kid on his couch.
